Happy 2018, everyone! Wishing you and yours a new year full of all of life's goodness- love, laughter, health, happiness, adventure and abundance.

Reflecting on the past year, and setting intentions for the next one... Last year our list of New Year's resolutions hung on the fridge to hold us accountable. They ended up being somewhat-broad yet measurable goals for the year, relating to everything from Career and Finances to Spirituality and Health. Starting a family!

Yes, life took an unexpected turn over the summer when we found out that we are pregnant with a baby girl, due this spring! Having a child has been a hope and dream of ours for several years but has not come easy. Over the course of 2.5 years we encountered 3 tragic miscarriages and an ectopic pregnancy that ended with another loss, and emergency life-saving surgery.

As a result of this emotional and physical rollercoaster, I have experienced many immense, deep reflections about my life's purpose and life's greater meaning. It is wild to think that this very blog and business idea began as a result of this personal challenge and hardship!

Looking back on the year I am proud to say that I am slowly but surely finding my balance again. I took a significant step in getting this passion-project off the ground by taking a 6-week course in entreprenuership and now have an official business plan for The Happiest Camper!

Especially now with a baby on the way, it is yet to be determined how or when this business could launch, but for the first time in a long time, I am not worried or stressed about it. Through everything I have learned to trust in the Divine timing of life. The cliche's are true- Everything that is meant to be, will be. I have a peace knowing that it's all going to work out just fine, and that with patience, faith, hope, and love miracles can- and DO- happen!

The past few years have been full of soul-searching, self-discovery, and self-improvement and 2018 will be no different. Motherhood will undoubtedly challenge me in many ways, but through it all I want to continue to live an examined life- full of mindfulness and intention. I want to always keep learning and growing. So this year, rather than the standard resolutions or intentions- I would like to try something even more planned and deliberate- a series of 12 monthly challenges.

Last summer as part of our recovery and restoration process, Adam and I committed to a 30 day yoga challenge. We ended up loving it- and it really did make an impression long-term. Besides yoga, there are SO many other ways to improve your life through small, simple changes. They say it takes 21 days to create a habit, so if all goes well- I could be a significantly "better person"- in mind, body, and spirit- by this time next year. Oh, what fun this will be!
